This textbook was developed as a supplement to Introduction to Geomatics (GEOG 222) at the University of Saskatchewan. The content is a mix of original content (95% to 100% of the text and most of the images) created by Professor Scott Bell while other material comes from attributed sources (attribution is included at the beginning of a chapter or section, or for the note taking guide, on each slide or at the culmination of a series of slides)

A Practical Guide to Introductory Geology

A comprehensive laboratory manual covering the physical aspects of geology, including rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, streams, structural geology, and much more. This manual has a strong emphasis on examples from western Canada, especially Alberta and British Columbia, and includes a diverse set of exercises.

An information service for soil types and soil sites across Canada. SOILx enables you to search spatially its database of soil sites and view detailed information on each one.

United States Map Gallery

The maps in this collection draw from data from the U.S. Census Bureau and reveal much about the settlement and subsequent migrations of many groups in the United States. These maps also show the socio-economic picture for much of the country, at least through the lens of topics like education, poverty, life expectancy, and household size. Developed primarily for use in my American Ethnic Geography course (GEO 200), this map collection demonstrates that diversity and regionalism are alive and well in the United States.
