Accusative Possessive Determiners

In Einheit 3.4 you learned about possessive determiners, but now we need to learn them in the accusative too.

Remember:

  • possessives allow us to express what belongs to whom
  • possessives change their endings according to the case, gender, and number of the noun they refer to
chart of possessive determiners

What has changed in these examples?

Mein Bruder heißt Nico. Ich rufe meinen Bruder an.

Ihre Jacke ist neu. Sie packt immer ihre Jacke ein.

Sein Sakko steht ihm total gut! Er zieht oft sein Sakko an.

Unsere Eltern wohnen in Berlin. Am Wochenende besuchen wir unsere Eltern.

If you noticed the only change is in the accusative masculine you are correct!!

Add -en to masculine accusative otherwise the endings remain the same as in the nominative.

Here is a video to review possessives in the nominative and accusative if you need a quick review.
