Reflexive Pronouns

In German, the future tense is formed with the verb werden + infinitive:

Juni hofft: “Mein neuer Job wird bestimmt viel interessanter sein als die anderen.”

Juni wird Bo sehr vermissen.

If there is an expression of time or an adverb of time in a sentence and it is clear that future actions or events are indicated, German speakers usually just use the present tense:

Nächstes Jahr fahre ich nach Spanien.

Morgen besucht Thomas seine Eltern.

Bo beginnt im Herbst ihr Studium der Architektur.

The verb werden has to be conjugated and placed in the appropriate position in the sentence, while the infinitive goes to the end of the sentence:

Juni wird zu spät zum Hotel kommen.

Am Sonntag wird sie ausschlafen.

In a dependent clause, it goes to the end of the dependent clause:

Bo sagt: “Ich weiß nicht, wann ich von meiner Reise zurückkommen werde.”

*ACHTUNG*

The verb werden (by itself) also means the equivalent to the English verb “to become”:

Wenn ich groß bin, werde ich Pilotin. (When I’m grown up, I’ll become a pilot.)
