Etiquette is not just important during an interview. It is also important before and after the interview. Etiquette and speaking clearly are also important on the telephone. You may need to use the phone to schedule a job interview. You may have a phone interview. You can also call an employer to follow up after an interview. It is important to know how to speak on the phone and use correct phone etiquette.
A. Review Telephone Language
When you make phone calls,
- Don’t say: “Hello, I am _______.”
- Do say: “Hello, this is _______.”
