Description:

Provides an overview of this presentation.  The facilitator(s) will start by exploring the concepts of inclusion and diversity. Next they will examine the approaches and interventions to embrace diversity and create inclusive environments, including the SEEDS model for looking into biases. Lastly, there will be real-life case examples for discussion by participants.

Participants will understand the demographic differences that are encompassed by Diversity.

Inclusion Definition (slide 09)

Measurable objective:

Participants will understand the definition of inclusion as the extend to which individuals feel like active participants in a society.

Description:

The facilitator(s) highlights that inclusion has various definitions, and reviews some of these definitions. The facilitator(s) may solicit responses from the participants as to what a definition of inclusion would be in their own words/opinions.

Following each participant response, the facilitator is encouraged to reflect briefly upon the definition provided and to offer some critical thinking and reflections for further input from the participants.


Group Composition & Full Engagement (slide 10)

Participants will understand the key components of a multi-cultural inclusive society, and what constitutes full engagement in a society.
