17. Picking Up Materials Without Notification

A few people pass in and out of the TFDL doors as you approach the east entrance. When you enter, you show your Unicard or other proof that you’re a student, staff, or faculty member and say “Just dropping by to collect my contactless pickup items” to the staff member near the door. They smile and nod you in.

You search the hold shelves behind the service desk on the first floor for a half an hour. Your items are nowhere to be found…because the request has not yet been processed! It can take any amount of time for the request to be processed and prepared. Not only do you go home empty handed, but you miss your bus as a result of looking for your items for so long.Image of a city bus driving quickly down a city street late at night.
