12. TFDL Workrooms Part 1

You’re on your way upstairs when you run into an old friend you haven’t seen in ages! You didn’t know they were going to the UofC too! You spend about 10 minutes chatting and catching up before you realize you’ve got your room booking waiting and you haven’t texted your group mates yet.

“Sorry, I gotta run” you apologize, as you text your group members to meet you at the workroom you booked.

You get to the workroom and see a group of students. You knock gently on the door.

“Sorry to interrupt, but I think I booked this work room?” you state/ask.

“You snooze you lose,” shoots back one of the students. “Your room booking expires if you’re 10 minutes late…it’s currently 4:15pm and you booked for 4:00pm. Library policy sorry. Find another place to work.” And with that, they slam the door.

Ugh, you shouldn’t have dawdled chatting with your friend. But, you notice the work room next door is open, and you go in and put down your stuff. You texts your group mates to meet you at the new location.

Your group mates arrive at the new workroom and they all get down your group project finally. 15 minutes later, you receive a knock at the door.

“Hello,” says another student. “Sorry to interrupt, but I’ve got this room booked for 4:30pm.”

Ugh again. You forgot to check if it was booked. You and your group mates collect your stuff and try to find a table. You wander for 45 minutes with nowhere to go, eventually deciding to head home and work in your dorms.

You all head home to pull an all-nighter on your separate parts, and end up missing a whole part of the assignment! You manage to hand it in, but your professor hands it back to you and tells you to try again if you don’t want to fail. And you still haven’t studied for your midterm!
