9. TFDL 2nd Floor
You walk up to floor 2 and see a lot of computer terminals and tables, but they are all full. You head up to the 3rd floor and manage to snag a big table. You text your group mates to meet you there.
Your groupmates arrive a few minutes later. You all pull out their computers, plug them in, and get to work. It’s a bit loud, and lots of people are working together and talking in the space, but you manage to get your group project done in an hour or so, and submit it on D2L. Then you sit around for a bit chatting.
“Nice work team!” you cheer. “Now I have to get some studying done for my midterm…I have no idea where to go.”
“Oh, there’s some great study spaces here at the TFDL,” your group mate suggests. “Floors 4 through 6 are quiet floors with individual study tables. Did you know you can also book a computer terminal or workroom? I’ll text you a link to the space booking site – so many options!”
Your group mate texts you the library booking website: https://library.ucalgary.ca/bookings

“Wow, you can book A/V space and a Visualization studio too? I had no idea!” you exclaim.
“Yeah, there’s tons of cool spaces and services at the TFDL! A Makerspace, a visualization studio, digital media and audio editing suites…you name it! You can read all about them on the library spaces website” replies your group mate. “Anyway, I’m off to get a bite to eat and take a nap. Good luck studying!”
Your group mates both leave. You pull out your computer, head to the booking site, log in with your UCID…and manage to snag the Treadmill workstation [opens link in new tab] on the first floor in 15 minutes. You spend an hour studying, and getting some exercise at the same time. You head home, eat a nice dinner, and get a good night’s sleep thanks to all that walking/treading. And your work pays off – you get an A on your group project and midterm!
