5. Technology at the TFDL, Doucette, and Business Libraries

You write your question into the chat:

“Hello! I’m trying to figure out how to borrow a laptop. Can you help?”

You wait a minute and a reply appears:

“Hi there – well you’ve come to the right place! We definitely have technology equipment you can borrow at several branches.

The Business Library [opens link in new tab] has laptops for Business students to borrow, as well as chargers for laptops and cell phones, headphone sets, calculators, and USB sticks. Any equipment borrowed from the Business Library has to be returned there.

Doucette Library [opens link in new tab] also has technology for Werklund students to borrow, including 7 Windows laptops, 5 Macbook Pro Laptops, iPads, GoPros, projectors…if it’s something you might need for teaching Doucette has it! You can get in touch with them and make a booking by emailing douctech@ucalgary.ca. You should place your request at least one business day in advance of the day you need it.

If you need a computer right away, the TFDL has several desktop options available on many floors.”

To continue the story, choose from an option below:

You’re a student at Werklund so you email the Doucette Library to book a laptop. Hopefully you’ll be able to pick it up early tomorrow and get your assignment done quickly!

You decide to head to the TFDL to see if you can snag a computer terminal to get your assignment done ASAP.
