8. Borrow an Electronic Resource

You quickly clear your throat and ask, “if I want to check out some electronic sources, how do I do that?”

They respond, “Go to the library website homepage [opens link in new tab] and log in with your IT username and password. Then you can search for an item. Once you have found a resource that you would like to view, simply click on it, navigate to the “View It” section, and access the resource there.”

You thank them and trudge back to your workstation to begin searching. The same librarian passes by a half hour later. Your stomach grumbles loudly as they pass by. You make eye contact, and they smile, saying, “Feel free to keep researching at home, you sound ready for some dinner! Students have access to online resources even when they are off campus.”

What! You could have done this from home? You laugh and wave goodbye as you head towards the exit to continue your online research at home.
