7. Borrow a Physical Resource

After a little poking around on the search results page, you find a book and a physical copy of a journal article that would be perfect for your topic.

The entry for book 1 has a link underneath the title that says “available at” followed by Taylor Family Digital Library (the branch name), Main Collection (the area name), and call number. You click this book and navigate to the section that says, “Get It,” which provides this same locational information. You follow the signage to the Main Collection in the TFDL and use the call number to find the shelf where the book is located.

On the record for the physical copy of the journal article, it lists the High-Density Library as the location. You are not sure where this is. When you look at the “Get It” section however, you see that you are able to click “Request.” The book will be brought to the TFDL for you to pick-up in a few days, and you will receive an email notifying you when it is ready for you to collect it.

Satisfied with your selected physical resources, you proceed to the TFDL service desk to check out the book. The librarian lets you know that you can also check out resources at the self-serve areas in the future, and that as a student you can check out an unlimited number of resources.

Just as you are about to thank the librarian and walk away, the thought that this might not be enough sources to complete your assignment pops into your head. You really want to head home for the evening, but also know that it might be a good idea to check out some electronic resources. What do you do?
