10. TFDL 6th Floor
You get off the elevator on the 6th floor, and start walking around trying to find a good place to sit for you and your group. It seems really quiet.
You manage to find a smaller table next to the window and stacks of books, and pull over a few chairs for your group. It’s not long before you know they’ve arrived as you hear them chatting loudly as they step off the elevator. They come over to join you and start taking out their stuff.
You start getting to work discussing your assignment, and a neighbouring student swings their head around and says “SHHHHHHH! This is a quiet study floor! If you’re doing group work go somewhere else!”
You ask “What do you mean? There are quiet study floors?”
The neighbouring student sighs in frustration and answers “Yes, floors 4 through 6 of the TFDL are designated as quiet spaces for quiet study.”
“How do I book a study room? That sounds great,” you ask.
The neighbouring student sighs again. “Do I look like someone who works at the library? I have an assignment due in three hours, which is why I came to this quiet floor. And now you loud people are busy yakking it up, causing a ruckus, and here I am just trying to work…”
You and your group decide to let the student continue his rant on his own, clean up your stuff, and tip toe away to the elevators to escape his wrath.
“I’ll go down to the TFDL Service Desk and ask someone about where some good spaces might be for us to work,” you suggest. “I don’t want to upset a stressed out student again! I’ll text you when I find a spot.”
