Classical Sociological Theory (3210)

Classical Sociological Theory is a third level course required for Sociology majors. An excerpt taken from the Fall 2024 syllabus reads: “This class offers an examination of the early theoretical development of sociology as a mode of inquiry and field of study, while also making direct connections with contemporary thinkers and/or issues.” This course, led by Dr. Elafros, has a unique focus on “the self, consciousness, and self-formation”. Kasia Runté’s thoughtful artistic project draws from these themes and explores ideas of identity, perception, and fractured understandings of the self.
