Entrepreneurship & Small Business Ownership

Entrepreneurship and small business ownership are essential aspects of the Canadian economy, contributing significantly to job creation, economic growth, and innovation. Studying entrepreneurship and small business ownership is important for a post-secondary business student because many business students may pursue careers in small business ownership or entrepreneurship after graduation. Therefore, gaining knowledge and skills in this area can help them to succeed in their future careers.

Further, small businesses are significant contributors to the Canadian economy. By studying entrepreneurship and small business ownership, students can learn about the challenges and opportunities involved in starting and managing a business, and contribute to the economy’s growth. Also, entrepreneurs are often associated with innovation and new ideas. By studying entrepreneurship, students can learn how to develop and execute new ideas, and potentially create new products or services that can positively impact society.

This Module will outline the nature of entrepreneurship and the role of small businesses in Canada.
