Research (noun): the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions.
Research is a term that can be used to describe both an investigation, and its findings. We use research materials and research skills daily, not just in schoolwork but every time we search for information. However, we don’t often stop to think about our role in the processes, creation, and ongoing conversations that create and contribute to research. In this lesson, you will learn about:
- the basic processes in conducting research,
- the attributes of research,
- the ways in which students like yourself are participants in the research process,
- how to engage in the ongoing research conversation.
