Although video conferencing has been used by many organizations for a number of years, before 2020 you likely only needed it when geographic barriers existed, for example, when meeting with clients or colleagues in other provinces or countries. In 2020, this changed, and online meetings became the only type of meeting for many people. Zoom alone saw an increase of almost 3000% in the number of daily participants between December 2019 and April 2020!
Zoom is, of course, not the only option for video conferencing. Other popular options include Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. In the settlement sector in Canada, some also use Big Blue Button.
Chances are, you’ve attended countless online meetings on several different platforms, and you feel comfortable joining and using the basic functions, but what about scheduling meetings? Or hosting them? The presenter in this video will show you how to do this in Zoom:

Social Media
Social media doesn’t have to be just for social purposes. Depending on your organization’s IT policies, there may be ways you can use tools such as Facebook or WhatsApp to keep in contact with your clients, students, or colleagues.
