Introduction

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this chapter, you should be able to

  • Solve problems that involve systems of linear equations in two variables, graphically and algebraically

Unit Overview

In this unit, you will learn about systems of linear equations. You will learn how to solve a system graphically and algebraically. Systems of equations can be used to solve a variety of real-world problems. For example, an architect could use a system of equations when designing a home that has restrictions on the area and perimeter of the windows owing to energy and structural concerns. Similarly, a system of equations could be used by a restaurant owner to explore ways to increase profits.
