Introduction

The Inclusive Research Excellence Learning Suite is a year-long, cyclical learning program designed to strengthen IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) capacity across OCEC in a sustained, coordinated, and practice-oriented way. The Suite runs annually and is organized into three modules per year, each released on a quarterly cadence, allowing learning to unfold progressively while remaining responsive to identified gaps, emergent needs, and evolving socio-environmental and research contexts.

Each quarterly module is composed of four to five offerings, delivered through three integrated formats:

  1. Micro-learning resources — brief, self-paced learning materials designed to build shared language and foundational understanding across diverse research roles and disciplines, while offering welcoming entry points into the complexities of IDEA in research design and practice in clear, digestible ways.

  2. Facilitated sessions and workshops — interactive learning spaces that emphasize application of IDEA principles to concrete research contexts, including research design, governance, and data practices.

  3. Stackable thematic offerings — a series of connected sessions that may be combined over time and, where appropriate, evolve into micro-credentials.

Importantly, each in-person or hybrid workshop is paired with a corresponding digital resource housed within the Learning Suite. These digital counterparts translate workshop content and collective learning into interactive, accessible resources, ensuring continuity for those unable to attend live sessions and supporting ongoing reflection, application, and knowledge sharing beyond the event itself.
