3. Data Analysis
Given that we want to know the survival rates of each colour phenotype and to determine if natural selection is occurring, we will make two figures in Excel. To decide on which type of graph to make, please see the appropriate section in the Essential Resources document on eClass.
- Figure 1: Plot the survival of each colour morph over the 6 years of the experiment.
- Figure 2: Plot the proportion of individuals with each colour morph of the last generation against the proportion of each habitat colour (Data from Tables 1 and 2). (Note: the actual colours will not be plotted, we are only interested in the pattern of phenotype vs. habitat prevalence). You will likely want to set this up in Excel as:
