3.2. Ideation Session
Ideation sessions were a key component of the transdisciplinary AI in Higher Education Exchange event, designed to support participants in developing case studies on AI implementation in educational contexts—guided by our AI Case Study Studio tool.
During the event, we held two ideation sessions.
Ideation Session 01
The goals of the first ideation session were: (1) idea generation from lightning talks, and (2) reflection on AI use in one’s own education context.
Tasks for Participants
Step 1: Pair off into small groups making sure you have paper and markers to help collect your thoughts.
Step 2: Introduce yourselves to your group.
Step 3: Discussion
Briefly discuss how you use or would like to use AI in your educational context, being certain to:
- Describe your educational context (i.e., course, level taught).
- Describe the AI technology you use or want to use in your classes.
- Consider how you implement the use of this tool in your context.
- Explore how you navigate ethical and inclusion considerations with your technology.
- Consider the outcomes and educational impact(s) of your chosen tool.
- Explore the challenges and limitations of AI implementation.
- Think about sustainability and future AI use.
Step 4: If there is time, open the AI Case Study Studio tool and familiarize yourself with the questions. You will focus more fully on completing all of the fields in Ideation Session 2.
Step 5: Begin writing and drafting your thoughts in a Word document to input into the AI Case Study Studio tool during the second ideation session.
Ideation Session 02
The goals of the second ideation session were: (1) AI case study generation and (2) submission of case study.
